5. Dress like a local. If you are walking around dressed like a tourist, people will notice that you are tourist. One of the best pieces of advice that you can possibly receive when travelling alone is to actually look like the locals. Less people will bother you and, ultimately, you are going to end up feeling a whole lot safer whilst you are out there travelling!
